ISRO's Project Soorya - Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV) development program

Missing the tonnage to GTO orbit. What about LTI or Mars insertion orbit? We should have that information as it is useful to gauge whether we have the capability of going to Mars or the Moon.

New Glenn with just one rocket can take up to 48 tons to LEO. Sounds like New Glenn is a better design than this.

ISRO's Project Soorya - Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV) development program

Why not? It shows how far and advanced the technology is. Methane engines only makes sense if you were doing interplanetary travel. Otherwise there is no reason to do methalox engine as Hydrogen and LOX gives better impulse. The reason that Musk went for methalox engines was because he could...

This makes no sense at all!!! Please refer to the payload specs at wiki or even at SpaceX webpage.

ISRO's Project Soorya - Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV) development program

How is this better than Falcon 9? Falcon has better payload capability to LEO than this proposed rocket and it only took SpaceX 6-8 years to make this design work when it will take ISRO about 15-20 years to pull this design off? And when ISRO finally get this ready, SpaceX and others will...

ISRO's Project Soorya - Next Generation Launch Vehicle (NGLV) development program

I think they goofed up. The quoted capacity figures should be swapped with LEO. In GTO, the capacity is 8.9 tons in expendable mode and 5.2 tons in barge landing. For LEO, it is 16.9 tons expendable, 9.9 tons barge landing and 7.7 tons return to site mode.
