    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Ok so, the things are moving now that DRDO-developed DATRAN engine was fired & to be tested further. It's originally meant for 50ton FMBT, which means the size constraints shouldn't be considerably high. I see some raising compared to T-72/90 hull, but not too significant. The engine being...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

I read about Russian war that 85% of tanks-kills are from AT-M, IED, Infantry, Arty & all sorts of aerial attacks. Tanks themselves have other things to engage. T-90 gun can only fire Mango, HE, HEAT (Arjun can't to HEAT, but the ATGM can have both HEAT & EFP warheads). We could maybe use a...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

There's been so many concepts, only limited by engine & T/W ratio... If we can get a 1300hp powerpack then there are so many options to put a better turret with autoloader (will make room below to move the crew safer downwards as well). Just buy off a blueprint. I agree we could use the 120mm...

We'd need cope-cages even more, because not only our garbage still don't have an APS despite multiple tenders (LEDS-150 won over Iron first)......they don't even have the laser-warning sensor seen on a Russian trial versions of T-90S (those two thingys above the gun). Meanwhile, even Iraq has...

When i first saw this.. I thought of the cage structure even before it existed. In 2013, back when i was still trying to get into DRDO.

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

REPOST: Original post that gave me the idea to use the non-shitty Arjun turret for "Tank Ex Mark 2", let's say. So I found a suitably angled Rajpath T-90 pic (lighting didn't match unfortunately)... This however is a 3-man turret that sports a bustle-mounted autoloader & 125mm gun, as that's...

Ummmm.. pretty sure this is technically theft... unless this is our underhanded way to send them aid 😕because I hadn't heard of any word of protest from GOI. I just found out about this. Makes it even more important to gain access to captured Euro tanks!

Even if FRCV is available by 2025, the last T-72 will not be restored till 2040.

So it would seem the Ajeya upgrade didn't work out & IA is looking to get T-90 turrets installed on our T-72s... TankEX was unacceptable, but somehow this is ok.

Yes.. Now you do the same. Can't believe I'm having this conversation AGAIN,but with old members instead of snartass newbs! Here's you T-90 Arbour from front. The whole front is a 600mm odd weakspot. Then there's this to consider...

    Indian Army T- 90 (Bhishma) and T- 72 (M-1) Tanks

Absolutely not!.. it's a massive misconception. These tanks have 700mm-odd LOS thickness all over the front except the gun, very similar to Type-99. The guns are also very likely rated higher, meaning they can use the new Chink 700mm ammo.
