I did not want to open a new thread on a bull-pup machine gun. Here is a modification of the PKM (Pecheneg) in bull-pup configuration, being held by Dmitry Rogozin.
KelTec (FN FAL compatible) Bull-Pup
Advantages:
Need a compact rifle? Well, it's a bull-pup.
Are you used to the Kalashnikov family? Well, you can charge using the right hand.
Are you used to the FN-FAL or INSAS family? Well, you can charge using the left hand.
Worried that the ejected shells...
Of course it would never pass. It is a shoddy conversion of a standard Kalashnikov into a Bull-pup. There are two serious flaws: (1) the ejection port, and (2) the charging handle which can rip your cheek and jaw off if tried in left handed position. Unless these two issues are sorted out, it's...
^^
Looks like the gas pipe is under the barrel, like in PK.
What I like about the VB Berapi LP06:
There is enough ventilation to prevent overheating.
Higher sights, that makes it easy to shoot whole standing, well, if there is a scope instead of that ice-cream scoop like thing...
Well, it was believed that a rifled barrel is more accurate than smooth-bore. But when it comes to tanks, that does not hold true anymore. You never know who will come up with what technology. So, nothing is final.
It comes with a P-rail, and the sights were attached to it. It has a laser pointer in the sight that is battery operated and can be adjusted using a knob on the side.
FNH P90 and PS90
FNH-USA
P90 (military) and PS90 (civilian)
Comes in various colours:
50 round transparent Box Magazine and Picatinny-Rail on top of the barrel:
Compact Size:
Of course, longer the barrel, more the weight, better the accuracy; shorter the barrel, lesser the weight, lesser the accuracy. Pick one, can't have both. If accuracy is not required, then the current INSAS is good enough.
^^
Why not?
Another good comparison would be the M89SR:
Note, the picture I posted (INSAS Bull-pup) is not a sniper rifle per se, it is still an assault rifle with better accuracy due to a longer barrel and can double up as a sniper rifle like the FN-FAL example I gave you.
First of all, bull-pup is not restricted to assault rifles. That is your wrong information. Secondly, bull-pups serve two purposes, and you are aware of only one purpose. Already explained. Still asking.
Read this and you will know bull-pup does not necessarily mean shorter rifle. I have given...
Yes, it serves the purpose of shortening the rifle without shortening the barrel. I did not shorten the rifle because I wanted to lengthen the barrel. How hard is it for you to understand?
For the second time, do you know why people use the bull-pup configuration?
^^
I already gave you an answer in my previous post. Read it. Don't argue for the sake of argument.
I have also seen FN-FAL, which is an assault rifle, doubling up as a sniper rifle:

I will answer that question, but first read on:
Why do you think people make bull-pups?
For 3 reasons:
To increase the barrel length without increasing the length of the rifle.
To decrease the length of the rifle without decreasing the barrel length.
Trade-off between the two above...
