It's better to replace a thousand odd T 72 with T 90 in my opinion. India has ordered around 1674 T 90, order 806 more ( T 90M ). Take whole order to 2480 MBT. Upgrade rest of T 90 to M level. This can cover things for next 2 decade. enough time for NGMBT R&D .no need to go for Armata.

T 72B model is not the same tank as other T 72. T 72B used a special composite armour inserts ( super dolly parton ). T 72B3 is just an upgrade to T 72B
