It's the mountains, my guy. They could always target the turret gunner from above and from pretty close range as well.hard too unless they have a sniper

My 2 paisa, if convoys travel big they'll automatically get themAnother one from inside can always take his place but yeah, they should opt for RCWS mounts or at least add ballistic shielding around the cupola.
That's been the SOP of the NATO forces in Iraq and Afghanistan for a long time now. You'll almost never find one of their convoys leaving base without some form aerial support be it a drone or a heli. Heck, in our context, even a tethered FPV drone can do wonders. And some of the vehicles should be equipped with the see-through armor system as well.My 2 paisa, if convoys travel big they'll automatically get them
Army had those open top gypsies with 2 men standing at the end. That could work, plus that Acoustic Gunshot Detector can also help incase the ambush happens like that on Airforce guys where they engaged from a longer distance.
Or an aerial survey of the route, perhaps we can even bait them but that would involve too much human risk.
We all don't see anymore SADOs being launched, I guess these militants have minimal contact with the population leading to very little or no information on them except the recent camera images and sketches.
And hiding in a house like a rat is very brave..killing hindu civilians in brave...madarchod.3rd militant downView attachment 252014

Always the case.. these haram ki aulads plan according to the minutest of parameters that incl.- Total number of nafri stationed at the nearest responding unit/cob, response time of nearest QRT, amt of weapons/effective firepower and expected re-enforcements within 10-20 and sometimes even 5 min time period. This is the new fidayeen model and personally, i believe it'll stay effective for an year or two at max. Security heads incl. CAPFs, Army and Police along with Distt. Admn and UT Gov. should allow a bit more leeway to the units operating on ground. My 2 paisa, if convoys travel big they'll automatically get them

That is true. Recon is extremely important esp in a hostile zoneIt's the mountains, my guy. They could always target the turret gunner from above and from pretty close range as well.
Same goes for urban regions, multi storeyed buildings and narrow roadsIt's the mountains, my guy. They could always target the turret gunner from above and from pretty close range as well.

Abso-bloody-lutely. Heck, I would say, it's even worse in the urban environment, especially if the area is dotted high-rise buildings like in Gaza or Mosul.Same goes for urban regions, multi storeyed buildings and narrow roads
This. Plus multiple vehicles in the convoy need to be equipped with MG turrets so that they can mutually support each other and cover each other's blind spots. That is true. Recon is extremely important esp in a hostile zone
Especially in an urban setting where the engagement distances can often be measured in single digit meters!!
Absolutely. One MG turret on a vehicle can be easily overwhelmed. Add 3-4 vehicles with an mg turret per convoy with a minor infantry escort and you see how the militants buckle and run away.Abso-bloody-lutely. Nah, whatever may be the case RR literally butchers and overkills any mischief in Built up areasSame goes for urban regions, multi storeyed buildings and narrow roads
i think same reason also for armoured vehicles and large convoys . not people friendly perception.I find the optics reasoning very amusing coz ,
you know what's worse than having machine guns on vehicles for optics , having mutilated bodies of your men lying on the road from ambushes .
Oh what pussies, ain't no way we believing in Winning Hearts and Minds after so much bloodi think same reason also for armoured vehicles and large convoys . not people friendly perception.
remember reading that they changed flag color on convoyvehicles from red to blue to make it less scary
BJP should at least supress their unholy fetish to lick Kashmiri M backsides and give them govt. jobs while simultaneously court-marshalling the entire battalion and leadership.imagine thinking this was about PMO
I guess modi should go down there to personally monitor each tactical op?
There’s zero indication that the GoI is interfering in tactical operations or not giving a free hand to the security forces (unlike Congress), in fact there’s ample evidence to the contrary.
Repeat after meBJP should at least supress their unholy fetish to lick Kashmiri M backsides and give them govt. jobs while simultaneously court-marshalling the entire battalion and leadership.
There is a middle ground between personally leading the CASO and not being bothered by what is happening in your country. Consecutive ambushes supported by Pakistan & their SF needs more attention by security establishment.
Since Army clearly failed to stop these ambushes, Modi/Rajnath should at least increase the heat on Army leadership for action, or demand extraordinary response (like Surgical Strikes) from the Armed forces.
I refuse to believe Army has free hand. We used to do cross-border ops and headhunting sessions for much lesser threshold of damage. When BAT mutiliated the body of Naik Hemraj in 2013, we replied in kind, disproportionally. Same didn't happen this time after muliple ambushes where soldiers were killed and mutiliated.
That’s one of the major set backs of not having a credible opposition and media too much influenced by the government realistically except the defence community who else is actually putting pressure on the agencies to take actions?literally no one it’s like 4-5 soldiers dying is not a good enough number to take actions or media to even talk about it for more than 60secs which is absolutely outrageous the only copium and hopium mix iam smoking is that they will do it after elections because our opposition starts crying like they still do about Pulwama and putting everything in the category of “mudi ki sazish”I refuse to believe Army has free hand.
