These mullaha can be an oil bonanza for Putin. Let Iran close the strait of Hormuz and oil prices will double over night.

Closing of strait of hormuz will only make other OPEC kingdoms in Gulf having a massive loss. This will only make Iran's relationship with GCC much worser.

It will be a major disruption . Saudis can possibly use gulf of Aden ? If Houthi’s allow? The world will have to suffer to make israel happy? It will make Russian oil more valuable the west will be forced to remove sanctions to save their economies

For the first time in middle eastern history, one man named Saddam Hussein did what nobody else could .
His reign was a reign of Arab supremacy over everything and everyone else.
He , during most part of the war played on extended Arab identity by portraying himself as a shield against the iranian or persian or median or elamite horde , yes he went that far back in time to play identity politics.
His real aim was capturing shatt Al Arab river , and khuzestan which was heavily populated by Arabs and not persians.

Now during the tanker war of iran iraq war , the Saudis marked a line starting from mouth of persian gulf and ending on Saudi coast, it was as far as I remember a 1400 km long line known as the king fahd line , Saudis threatened to attack and did shoot down both iranian and Iraqi planes , if they ventured into the area enclosed by the Fahd line.
So that part of Persian gulf , and trade with GOC nations was secure as far as india was concerned.

We although helped iran by supplying textiles, rubber dinghies for their attack on majnoon islands and torpedos for use by their boats to attack shipping.
Rajiv Gandhi agreed for torpedos and dinghies as we considered them as defensive weapons
All the same we were sending teams after teams of our airforce pilots to train Iraqi pilots , their army officers came here to study etc .
We were helping both sides .



As far as this war is concerned Israel crossed the line by attacking embassy, hence they needed a response.

Perhaps you're unaware as to how Iran has treated embassies of nations on its own soil & outside of their country. I suggest you familiarise yourself with the phenomenon.

Secondly if countries use their embassies in other countries to target 3rd parties consistently & over a period of time they're violating the very norms of diplomacy they're invoking in their defence .

Countries at the receiving end of such action , which can , will take action against these embassies .

We have interests and relationships with both the countries and this cannot be sacrificed in exchange for full support for one of them.

Israel is a strategic partner but we also officially support 2-states solution and hence also support Palestine officially.

With Iran they are our key to Central Asia. They were our major oil supplier for quite a long time. But under Unkil Sam's pressure we are buying less from them now.
