Turkish F-35 fighters undergo technical maintenance every month

A Turkish news source, Aydınlık, reports that the United States is requesting compensation for the maintenance of Turkish Lockheed Martin F-35 fighter jets.

If Congress blocks their engine plans for the Kaan, they'll have no choice but to get engines from China or Russia. Should be a good catalyst for their quick eviction from NATO. Turkey is a rogue state responsible for most of the problems in the neighborhood and a staunch advocate for ethnic cleansing. I don't think it works like that. You can't just shove any engine even with similar dimensions unless you design the plane in its inception for that. If they had designed that keeping in mind of F110 only, then their program is as good as dead. Even if Americans supplied engine, you now have a fleet of 5th gen Aircraft that is dependent on US goodwill for spareparts and maintenance for next 50 years. Unless they redesign the plane for a domestic engine which is near impossible.

It is not that easy to put al31s or even al41s. Given they're air mass flow Rate is widely different they're is a major problem which kaan with even f110 could face will need alot of work to solve that this 5gen aircrafts have serpentine intakes Which this engines were never made for mean the airflow needed for this massive engines is alot serpentine Intakes are not just straight open like in su30s or f15s..
Serpentine has limitations they limit airflow They will have to work alot on this issue. And later putting any other engine on it will be almost impossible.
I dont think any Russian alternative might work here maybe Chinese one could work. As they had multiple ones for they're j20. They won't hesitate to supply initial engines used. But that too will need alot of re-engineering of project.

They are using the same engine they use on f16. Lets see will uncle Sam army twist them or not. They are saying they will indigenously develop one turbo fan by 4 years which is impossible even if they would have said 15-20years. They have one option of rolls Royce there is no way they will get ipr and neither they will be independent. Can be army twisted here too.. Safran is alone Demanding 6 billion euros for co developing. Imagine what will rr demand. Given Turkish economic conditions highly unlikely they could afford it. If u noticed initially they're were so many reports of Turks going with RR but all of those things we used here have came to end. Nothing's seems to be progressing with RR. As they won't give even a shit of technologies to this undeserving turds for some penny dollars.
