“The U.S., like China, currently does not have any capacity to manufacture chips below 10 nanometers. ”

is this really from a professional report?
US is getting the premier company TSMC of your renegade province Taiwan to set up a ~ 50 billion USD fab in Arizona where they'd have the capacities to mfg 1-7 nm SMC & other legacy nodes.

Where are your < 5 nm SMC , Chang ?

We're waiting for Huawei to catch up too Chang . Nothing would give us more pleasure than to see Apple & Tesla incurring losses & exiting mfg in China like Samsung did. Believe me we'd be more happy than you .

Professor Ma Weiming now is considered the best of engineers in Chinese history next to Qian Xuesen

Ma has led the development of China's electromagnetic catapult system[3] for launching aircraft from carriers (similar to the Electromagnetic Aircraft Launch System of the United States), which is more efficient than the older steam catapult system.
It is expected to be deployed on the Type 003, the PLA Navy's third aircraft carrier, which would make China the second country to develop the technology, after the US.[3]

In January 2019, Chinese media reported that Ma's team had developed electromagnetic railguns capable of firing projectiles at very high velocity, with longer range and higher accuracy than traditional artillery. Military observers expect a modified version of the Type 055 destroyer to be equipped with the railgun, which would make China the first country to deploy the weapon on an actual warship.[3][5]

While at Caltech, he cofounded NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.[1][2] He was recruited by the United States Department of Defense and the Department of War to serve in various positions, including as an expert consultant with a rank of colonel in 1945. At the same time, he became an associate professor at MIT in 1946, a full professor at MIT in 1947, and a full professor at Caltech in 1949.[3]

Mr Qian Xueseng also asked government to promote EV as strategic industry in 1992! And predicted there will be 10 million EVs sales in following 2030 yrs!

Yes, Indians have always been happy,

This is why India is developing slowly,

Both good and bad.

Well we've to be grateful we didn't have the CCP at the helm out here which meant no civil war , no great purges , no 5 pests campaign , no great leap forward, no cultural revolution , no Tiananmen Square massacres , no Wuhan virus pandemic , no < 100 million dead , no re education camps , no organ harvesting , no great helmsman 1.0 & 2.0 .

We're truly unlucky & unfortunate Chang.

Indian members of the DFI are upset about the slow pace of development in India.

I think it's a good thing,

But I don't know if Indian society as a whole has the same view, maybe the vast majority of Indians have no expectations for development.

Indian members are justified in being upset at the slow pace of development just as our security managers are justified in thinking we ought to hide our strength & bide our time looking at how China's got into a confrontation not just with the US but the entire western bloc of countries.

Hence we're of the opinion that it's better to be slow & steady than fast & reckless , boastful & vain coz the former will get us to our destination slower possibly than what we've anticipated but the latter will definitely land us back to the opening lines of The Romance of The 3 Kingdoms faster than can be predicted.
