On the flip side, doesn't this have use once the EW equipment blocking GPS is taken care of? Infact, even as a preemptive strike, these may find a LOT of use when GPS blocking equipments are not put up in the first place.

In a scenario with an enemy like Pak/China, our armed forces are not as incompetent or handicapped as Ukraine's. Making a low collateral SDB can be a great asset: because it can be carried in more numbers per sortie and because it is precise due to GPS.
Might as well use guided rockets . Or loitering munitions. Don't think the costs of the SDB justified usage .

Per sortie ? It's a ground based rocket launched munition .

the rha of stripped down t90 is said to be around 550mm rha while the kontact-5 degrades 200mm of apfsds penetration so it could be around 750-800mm protection on the older t90s models
while the bhisma with kanchan armour would be a well protected tank from all kind of darts kanchan already stopped a 106mm rcl (400mm pen) and israeli apfsds too in past since metallurgy is advanced the newere gens must have better protection values
Without K5, turret has a max of 700-750 mm RHA protection against KE.

Add another 150 mm for M1A2 and you get 800 mm RHA against KE .

What are the guidance mechanisms for Rudram 3 ? Does it have terrain mapping or any other counter to GPS Denial ?
RIII has two seeker options.

IIR OR PHH with mmW seeker.

This is the tender for the cooling LRU for the IIR seeker of RIII.

Without GPS, RIII will still reach the general area of its target and then precisely home in using its seeker.

It most probably has a CEP of 3 m, same as Rocks.

Posting this British satire here from 16-17 yrs ago aptly describing British arms procurement policies & procedures & the usual pickle they get themselves into as well as the general apathy about the entire issue.

It turned out to be eerily prescient about British policies & since our armed forces structure & bureaucracy is styled on the British this satire holds true for us as well.

Enjoy !!

Ye kya nautanki chal Raha hay .....kuchh 100 ke aas pass kuchh kharedd ke unka integration pe waqt barbad karke...unka test karke....bahut khus ho rahe hain....
If they will buy in numbers then makes sense only .......
You never waste time in upgrading system, no matter how small it is.

Testing of Rampage and Rocks are more about sending message across the board rather then self gloating. BTW forget the fact that only a few hundreds of those were procured.
