Spain is not important?Spain and Portugal have lost relevance in geopolitics long ago.
Latin America doesn't hold any baggage anymore except lingual and cultural norms due to colonial history.
One question, why Spain dosen't belong to G7? How mornal Spanish view this? Do they feel they are ignored by mainstream western society?Spain is not important?
The aerospace and defense industry is a strategic sector for the Spanish economy, since:
The Spanish aeronautics industry is a world leader in many fields, including composite materials for aircraft structures, low-pressure turbines, air traffic management systems and military transport aircraft.
- It creates high-quality employment
- Accounts for 1% of total Spanish GDP and 7.3% of the Spanish Industrial Production Index.
- It is key for the foreign sector. In 2019, 71% of sales were from exports.
- It is geared to RDI (the results of research in this sector are also often used in other industries)
Spain's HDI value for 2019 is 0.904— which put the country in the very high human development category— positioning it at 25 out of 189 countries and territories. Between 1990 and 2019, Spain's HDI value increased from 0.761 to 0.904, an increase of 18.8 percent.Aerospace Industry in Spain

Spain doesn't have a standing in aerospace against Germany, France or UK or Asian states in most aspects. It's a manufacturer, not a major R&D base building new fighter designs. Obviously, it's developed country with high per person output in tech sector like most former colonial powers (even though Spain and Portugal are weakest among them). But yet, overall technological, economic and military output is midget which won't prolong as Spanish economy has been nosediving and unrests are rising. Spain is indeed an underdog in European and global politics.Spain is not important?

Yes, i think it's pretty accurate, now it's a peaceful nation with nothing happens there.Spain doesn't have a standing in aerospace against Germany, France or UK or Asian states in most aspects. We don't see Spain testing and deploying giant strategic weapons, testing nukes, sending rockets in space, planets or building space stations or bullying around anyone with its military might or economic prowess. Spain's era is just no more.
