Entire lefitst cabal has activated in Ladakh, this is China's gameplan.
We often preen when we hear our experts proclaim on MSM or SM China has a bigger internal security budget than their defence budget. This is the advantage of having a massive internal security budget. You're able to nip such zero value protests in the bud.

For perspective had this been the initiative of the Kargil Shi'a we could & would've effectively tackled the protest one way or the other even if it meant mobilising the Ladakhi Buddhist community . We don't have that luxury in the opposite scenario.

Right now all we can do is weather the storm . Taking harsh measures would have serious consequences on our preparedness along the LAC.

What else is new? Indian leftists should have all been eradicated for the shenanigans they pulled all through the 80s and 90s. Ladakhis do have some valid issues, but this issue seems fabricated for elections. On the plus side, it seems the actual locals there are indifferent to the current situation from what i have read on instagram. Many do support wangchuk but their talking points are very different to what leftists are saying.

Dont count that as plus side or minus. See this as how schism is fermented in a region. Even in Punjab - when separatism was fermented - most common people including Sikhs thought Punjab had issues but they are different from what separatists says and they considered their demand fringe and extreme. Same story in Kashmir too in the start.

The leftists are also aware. Their idea is not to get support from get go but prepare grounds in 5-10 years. Thats why we have to careful in making Magsaysay award winners heroes. Govt should create their own.

If chinooks and m777 are such a "game changer" on the LAC why are we not getting more of em ?
M-777 are no longer required to be imported though there were talks of a repeat order. Kalyani has made a domestic equivalent. No clue if it's being tested & if so which stage of the trials has it reached.

As far as the Chinooks go , it's lack of funds & priority. I recall reading PKS way back who stated we needed some 50+ Chinooks & 100 Apaches for both our fronts especially with a view to conduct our Air Land campaign vide Cold Start . Incidentally , this assessment was before Doklam IIRC.

Same RR by GoI, too costly, don't have money. Kniggas want to buy Mercedez Benz in the price of Tata Nano, same story for Rafale.

Much poorer nations like Egypt, Indonesia & Poland are mass-buying critical equipment but being the 5th largest economy we don't have money to protect ourselves. Then they will arm infantry soldiers with a awkward-orange rifle, handful of bullets and a tin-helmet, and ask them to defeat the Chinese.

Unfortunately some dephens fanboys will come and defend that we really don't have money
