Since 2019, Grupo IUSA has been manufacturing the chassis of the Zynch electric motorcycle in Pastejé, State of Mexico, while the final conditioning is carried out in Bosques de Aragón.

The pandemic slightly slowed down the production of the first generation of this model, but it is currently manufacturing the pre-series of the new Zonder model.

Enrique Lacombe, Director of Mobility at Grupo IUSA, commented that the first model was a Vespa-type scooter, with a system that only existed in Taiwan and Mexico, which is battery exchange.

They sold a thousand motorcycles of the first model, mainly for fleets of companies such as Jokr, DHL, Fedex and some pharmacies.

"We finished production relatively quickly and the key to success was the people who are delivering through platforms. They are very light motorcycles, they do not have a clutch or speeds, and they are very easy to handle," explained Lacombe.

Of the Zonder model, the projection aims to market 5 thousand units in 2024, 10 thousand in 2025 and 20 thousand in 2026.

"We decided to manufacture them ourselves because we are interested in controlling quality. If we import them from China or India, it is more difficult to control quality and it is a work vehicle that cannot fail," explained Lacombe.

"We believe in developing the Mexican industry and that is why we set out to do all the engineering, do it with Mexican labor that we believe is excellent and probably better than the Asian one. It is a technology that is patented by us."

The IUSA electric motorcycle has an interchangeable battery with which the driver arrives at a charging point and changes the exhausted battery for a fully charged one through a prepaid plan for a certain number of changes.

São Paulo – Agrale will supply four hundred buses for the new phase of the federal government's Caminho da Escola program. The company has already been a supplier in past editions.

All units are from the Agrale Marruá AM200 Mo Escolar 4×4 minibus, built on the chassis of an off-road vehicle. The vehicles are equipped with a Euro 6 engine and have air conditioning and a mobile seat device, which allows students with reduced mobility to be transported.

What is the bus production line like? Volare is the Brazilian leader in the manufacture of minibuses, and Liam Mattera went to the factory in São Mateus-ES, to see the assembly line that has already manufactured more than 7 thousand vehicles, with the aim of revealing how a bus is created , both executive and urban models.

Furthermore, you will understand all the differences in Volare's minibus models, in addition to seeing up close all the highlights of the urban Volare Fly 10 model.

Since the beginning of its history, Volare has always focused on innovation, remembering that it is a company belonging to the Marcopolo Group. It has been on the road for more than 24 years, driving the future of mobility and making it easier for people to reach their destinations using minibuses.

With highly modern industrial facilities and production processes, the São Mateus factory in Espírito Santo adopts cutting-edge technology systems, with welding and painting robotization, process optimization, automation, functional layout and laser cutting in tubes and sheets.

The entire process of building a Volare begins with assembling the structure with exclusive templates and then coupling it to the chassis. The bus then receives the initial components for the sides and roof and is then taken to the painting booth.

Then the body goes into a new line, to place all the items and interior finishes. Side panels, roof, upholstery, floor, glass, instrument panel, seats, package holders, as well as audio and video equipment.

Finally, the vehicle receives calls, completing the process involving mechanical and electronic systems.

The vehicle then undergoes a visual inspection and other important tests for the proper functioning of the vehicle where assembly is completed. Afterwards, several tightness tests are carried out on Volare's test tracks at the São Mateus factory itself.

The brand's line of minibuses is considered the most complete on the market.

There are different vehicles, with configurations from 6 to 10 tons, produced according to the demands of each client, understanding their needs and developing ideal solutions for their businesses.

To serve each segment, the brand produces vehicles in Executive, Charter, Urban, School, Rural, 4x4, Off Road (or “off-road” vehicles) versions. All of this through four specific lines:

Fly Line — the brand's premium line includes the Fly 9 and 10 models. Models with differentiated design, ample internal space, quality and functionality.

Attack Line — has the Attack 8 and 9 models. With functionality, robustness and great performance. The brand's best-selling line.

Access Line — known for its rear engine and full air pneumatic suspension that offer comfort and accessibility.

Special units — Volare is also recognized for providing the market with special Volare Fire, CFC, ambulance, and mobile units products.

In the video about how a bus is created, you can also see in detail the differences of the urban Volare Fly 10 model. It has a Cummins ISF 3.8 engine with 162 hp and is in the 10 ton range.

The urban Volare Fly 10 offers great cost-benefit, excellent operational performance, low consumption and is the ideal minibus aimed at a large migration movement from large buses to micro buses, facilitating mobility in large urban centers.

And do you enjoy the world of buses, are you a fleet owner or are you fascinated by busology? This is certainly a video that will please and surprise anyone who wants to know more about Volare and Marcopolo buses and also our friends who are bus experts.

Voltz electric bikes from Brazil
The first steps

The first Voltz electric motorcycle was launched in November 2019 and, in just one year on the market, it sold 1,600 units. EV1's first customers demonstrated contagious enthusiasm for the brand, forming an engaged Volterz community.

After a year of working exclusively with the EV1, Voltz announced the launch of its street model, the EVS. In just the week of the pre-sale launch, Voltz sold 2,000 EVS units, exceeding market expectations.

In May 2021, the company received a contribution of almost 100 million from Creditas, one of the main credit fintechs in Brazil. The contribution provided the capital necessary to set up a factory in Manaus, expand the number of stores and create a battery recharging network.

In the global race for vehicle electrification and energy transition, natural resources play a fundamental role in the development of new technologies.

In the specific case of Bolivia, they have important deposits of lithium, one of the essential minerals in the manufacture of batteries for electric cars. According to the United States Geological Survey (USGS), there are reserves in 17 countries, with those in the highland country being one of the largest in the world, with 9 million metric tons.

Taking advantage of resources and appealing to interesting innovations, the Bolivian company Quantum Motors inaugurated a lithium battery factory, with the aim of promoting electromobility. The complex is located in the city of Cochabamba, central area of the country.

In the 5,000 square meter factory they assemble two models of electric vehicles, E2 and E3, equipped with lead acid batteries that will now be completely replaced with lithium-ion batteries.

The executive director of Quantum Motors, José Carlos Márquez explained that the factory is an industry that was born as vertical integration for the company, but at the same time, it becomes a supplier of lithium battery packs to other companies, inside and outside. of Bolivia, in very significant volumes, as much as 2,000 motorcycles per month.
1705639224655.png

“With Quantum Batteries we mark a milestone in this history, because batteries are the true heart of electric vehicles and urban electromobility is the future in Latin America,” he said.

About Quantum
Quantum Motors is the first industry dedicated to the manufacturing of electric vehicles in Bolivia. The complex began operations in 2019, produces 300 vehicles annually and already markets its products in Mexico, Paraguay, El Salvador and Peru.

The directors of the Bolivian company have as their main objective to promote urban electric mobility, which they assure will mark the new way of moving in the region. In that sense, Quantum Motors will focus its efforts on integrating greater components to those already manufactured in Bolivia, mainly in terms of batteries.
